We like a cuddle as much as the next man/woman. On the other hand, it has come to light that attempting to cuddle the customers is a little unprofessional and therefore we've made a fire. Come on baby light my fire (The Doors version NOT the Will Young version, you understand). We hope you like it. Stay warm this winter. XOX
A VERY, VERY, VERY FINE HOUSE
We like you. We like you frequenting our premises with your intellectual and attractive friends; dancing, laughing and rarely hurling. It's a pleasure to host each and every one of you; each and every time we throw a party. Starting this Friday night we launch our brand new cocktail menu casino online nz at kiwigambling.co.nz. A selection of 10 original recipes to incite whatever mood you may find yourself. To celebrate we're having a happy hour, more details to come soon, keep your eyes peeled. Love you.
We've spent the weekend decorating. Not just with any old tat you understand, but with an illustrious bounty of escapism, beautiful women and a guy who looks a little bit like Tintin, sprawled decadently and equidistantly across the walls of our back room. It looks well nice. Courtesy of the friendly faces at Brick Lane's Print Club we introduce you to a collection of 10 original prints designed by a group of the city's most interesting illustrators and photographers. Come and check them out sometime and if anything takes your infinite fancy https://aucasinosonline.com/nz/, feel free to make us an offer and take it home.
SPOOKY ROLLER DISCO
A whole lot of love for everybody draped in their favourite gothic get up at the Blackadder & Friends Halloween Ball on Friday night. Things escalated out of hand really quite quickly and what a pleasure it was to have you all here. Keep posted with all of Blackadder's ongoings through his recent endeavours upon the social networking scene. More parties to come soon. Spread the dastardly.
GREETINGS FROM THE ISLINGTON PING PONG SOCIETY
The ancient art of ping-pong is currently enjoying a renaissance. Unlike fencing or sumo-wrestling, ping-pong is one of those few social pastimes in which two friends can compete frantically and desperately whilst retaining a relatively leisurely exterior and we're a little obsessed.
Welly-well, well, well, who didn't have a good time at The Moalition launch party? A sea of handle-bars and pelvic thrusts reminiscent of a young Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar's excursion across the Tool Box dancefloor circa 1994. It was awesome. Some kind of well dressed circus, with barrages of hairy women and smiling faces. We would like to thank all of you for coming along and additional gratitude to Auchentoshan for providing us with the Whiskey and Theme Park for providing us with the tunes. More parties to be had with these guys soon...
MODERN LIFE IS NOT SO RUBBISH
A hearty thank you to everybody involved in our Auchentoshan Presents evening held last week. It was certainly refreshing to be surrounded by a group so sartorially inclined amidst a gulf of free whisky. For anybody that managed to miss out, please don\'t leap from anything tall. Just be sure to make the next one. Photos of your pretty faces can be found over on our Facebook page.
THINGS ARE LIABLE TO GET A LITTLE HAIRY
To coincide with Movember\'s annual efforts in raising awareness for men\'s health, a brigade of spritely young chaps have launched an ingenious campaign to coax are leaders into action. This Movember, please join and support The Moalition in their efforts to convince Mr. & Mrs. Cameron into growing a moustache on behalf of the charity. On Thursday 11th October, we shall be playing hosts to the campaign, in the popular format of a massive party! Entry is free, donations on behalf of Movember shall be endlessly welcome. Guest DJs to be announced at the start of next week.
A Warm Welcome
I think the summer's over, which in reality should be of no surprise at all, seeing as October begins on Monday. Alas, it's colder and darker outside and for a lot of the student community, memories of summer lovin'/romance must now be replaced by dissertation meetings and arduous 8am lectures hosted by crusty nosed tutors, perhaps. Anyway, we're not here to concern anybody with such commitments. We're here to show you a good time. May the force be with you and a warm welcome to all of you new and returning academics. Ask at the bar to receive a 10% student discount.
Gathering Place: Your New Local Barbers
Feeling a little ugly? Fear not, the illustrious pair of Mr. Joshua Mihan's left and right hands are soon to be gracing The Blacksmith & The Toffeemaker for a master class in affordable and quality barbering. More details to come soon.
AN OPEN SPACE
AN EVENING FOR THE MORE INQUISITIVE OF YOU
Starting this autumn we shall be hosting our very own and mostly traditional take on a well fashioned, British pub quiz. If you have any questions or opinions as to when you think this monthly get together of the brains should commence, please do get in touch. PS there will be a synchronised breakdancing round.
Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time
The season of good will is as ever, fast approaching, with the big man limbering up, checking lists, etc... This being our first Christmas, we're really quite excited and ready to take any bookings for office parties and dinners that you may wish to make. Come one, come all!
WE DO GLUE
A new weekly event, every Friday, hosted at The Blacksmith & The Toffeemaker, Clerkenwell. Playing a colourful mix of soul and disco - from Zapp to LCD Soundsystem - by a host of London\'s most exciting bands and DJs, Glue offers a more dynamic and less dance-yourself-bored nightspot. Previous guests have included, Nic Tasker (Young Turks/ Boiler Room), Sunless 97, Theme Park and Stubborn Heart. Expect a warm atmosphere with space to dance, and space to tell your jokes/gossip. Expect skate videos.
Although the Blacksmith and the Toffeemaker may seem like a slightly bizarre name for a public house there is a degree of method to the madness.
